The theme of the event was Effective Use of Advanced Analytics to Support Clinical Trial Decision-making and Analyses. We heard a variety of topics from those within pharma and those collaborating with pharma, including academia and the FDA. The presentations covered several platforms and languages: SAS, R, Python and Spotfire. Considerations for improving statistical methodology in oncology-based trials were presented and sparked engaging discussion. Machine learning and its use in biomarker research were highlighted, where conversations continued into scheduled breaks. We also heard from FDA representation about patient-level meta-analyses on publicly funded trial data which magnified the returns on public investment in the trials.
In addition to the great presentations, the event allowed ample time for attendees to network with colleagues across organizations; and we hope this Single Day Event will promote future collaboration and help foster industry connection, especially for those in the Toronto area.
The hosts would like to acknowledge and thank all of our sponsors, presenters, and participants for making this a successful event, and hope this was the first of many more PhUSE Single Day Events to come in Canada!
