The conference venue, RAI Amsterdam, is located in Zuidas business district, or the 'Financial Mile'. It lies between the Rivers Amstel and Schinkel, close to both the historic city centre and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
2019 will be PhUSE’s 15th year, and we will be reflecting upon the journey to date, celebrating the achievements of the first 15 years. As an organisation, PhUSE has continually evolved, from annual conferences to CSSes & SDEs, and has strived to try different things for the benefit of the PhUSE Community. The focus of the first conferences was around the software used and the use of standards; nowadays, the focus is on contemporary topics of the day such as patient centricity, data transparency and machine learning. This year will include another evolution in terms of Stream format: the introduction of dual-formatted Streams incorporating traditional presentations and Hands-on Workshops.
As always, we will be taking a holistic view looking ahead to the ever-changing landscape, and the implications on the industry, and the challenges and benefits which this presents. We will look beneath the tip of the clinical trial iceberg, and discuss and debate topics such as patient recruitment, electronic health records, the Cloud and collaboration, analytical software, and remote trials.

Outside of the conference, try well-renowned delicacies such as raw herring, stamppot and stroopwafel. There has been a renaissance in small-scale artisanal production such as micro-breweries, sausage makers and chocolate producers. Or, if you would like to take in some culture, hop on a bike and go to Museumplein (home to the Rijksmuseum).
I look forward to seeing you in Amsterdam!
